Postal voting for the 2024 General Election concludes today.
Postal voting for government employees was held on 31 October, and 01 and 04 November.
The National Election Commission allocated 07 and 08 November for state employees who were unable to cast their postal votes earlier.
Accordingly, postal votes can be cast at the District Secretary’s Office located in their area of employment during this period.
The Election Commission states a total of 17,140,354 voters are eligible to vote in the 2024 Parliamentary Election.
Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Ratnayake said polling will be conducted in 13,314 polling stations across the island, while 2,024 halls have been allocated for vote counting.
He further said that all the officers, vehicles and equipment required for this purpose have been given to the respective districts as of now.
The 2024 General Election is scheduled to be conducted on 14 November 2024. (Islandnews)
