The Appropriation Bill to allocate funds for government expenditure for the 2025 financial year was presented to Parliament today.
Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya presented the Appropriation Bill to Parliament this morning, for its first reading.
According to the Parliament, the second reading of the draft bill will take place on 17 February 2025, with the debate scheduled from 18-25 February. The vote on the second reading is scheduled for the evening of 25th February.
Thereafter, the Committee Stage Debate, also known as the Third Reading Debate, will take place from 27 February to 21 March, with the third reading vote scheduled for the evening of March 21. (Islandnews)
