A 34-year-old has been stabbed to death in the early hours of Friday (Feb 14) in Metiwiliya, Pitigala, Police said.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident after receiving information that the body of the stabbed individual was discovered on the road near the Galhiriya bend, in Metiwiliya.
The individual identified as a resident of the area, had been returning home after attending a funeral nearby, when he had been attacked and murdered by a sharp object, Police said.
The body of the victim lies at the Elipitiya Hospital morgue, while investigations are underway. (Islandnews)
