Gary Kirsten has resigned as head coach of Pakistan’s ODI and T20I teams, Pakistan’s ARY News reported, citing sources.
Kirsten’s departure, which comes just six months after he took on the role in April, underscores ongoing internal tensions within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Kirsten’s exit follows decision also comes amid broader changes within the team, including the recent exclusion of top-order batter Fakhar Zaman, signaling a potential shift in team strategy.
According to Cricbuzz, the South African coaching veteran was reportedly frustrated with internal processes at the PCB, leading him to step down ahead of Pakistan’s white-ball tour of Australia. Kirsten’s resignation is expected to impact Pakistan’s preparations for the series and adds to a series of administrative and team shifts currently affecting Pakistan cricket.
