All-rounder Vanindu Hasaranga, who was injured in the Twenty20 series against New Zealand, will officially miss the one-day series and Dushan Hemantha has been called in his place.
Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed today (12) that Vanindu was seen playing with a leg injury in the last Twenty20 match between the two countries and that he will miss the one-day series officially.
Wanindu was able to perform outstandingly in the recently concluded ODI series against West Indies and he also won the New Zealand T20 Man of the Match award..
Dushan Hemantha, who was called as Vanindu’s replacement, represented the Sri Lankan team in the 2023 World Cup and he also performed well in the recently concluded Emerging Asia Cup cricket tournament.
Accordingly, it is also reported that Vanindu is scheduled to come to the Colombo Performance Center for the healing process of his injury.
The three-match one-day series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand is scheduled to begin tomorrow (13) at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, while the other matches of the series will be held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
