The National Peoples’ Power (NPP) has won five (05) seats in the Hambantota District under the Preferential voting system.
The preferential votes for the Hambantota District are as follows;
- NPP – 05 seats
Nihal Galappaththi – 125,983 votes
Athula Welangoda – 73,198 votes
Sandaruwan Madarasinghe – 65,969 votes
Aravinda Senarath – 48,807 votes
Ruwan Senarath – 42,249 votes
- SJB – 01 seat
Dilip Wedaarachchi – 23,514 votes
- SLPP – 01 seat
