National Peoples’ Power (NPP) Parliamentarians Dr Rizvie Salih and Hemali Weerasekera have been appointed to key roles in the 10th Parliament of Sri Lanka.
NPP Colombo District MP Dr Rizvie Salih has been appointed the Deputy Speaker of the 10th Parliament of Sri Lanka.Â
Dr Rizvie Salih’s name was proposed by Government Spokesman Minister Nalinda Jayatissa and was seconded by Minister Saroja Paulraj.
Meanwhile, NPP MP Hemali Weerasekera was appointed as the Deputy Chairperson of Committees.Â
Gampaha District MP Hemali Weerasekera’s name was proposed by Minister Sunil Handunneththi.Â
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Leader Sajith Premadasa was recognized as the Opposition Leader of the 10th Parliament of Sri Lanka, by the Speaker of the House.Â
At the commencement of the inaugural session of the new Parliament, NPP MP Ashoka Sapumal Ranwala was appointed as the Speaker of the 10th Parliament of Sri Lanka. (Islandnews)
