Three Jaffna cricketers included in Youth Sri Lanka squads


Jaffna Cricketers Youth Sri Lanka Squads

Three Jaffna cricketers have been named in Youth Sri Lanka squads for the upcoming U19 Asia Cup and U17 bilateral series against Bangladesh.

Renowned Sports Journalist Ranjan Paranavithana posted on his personal social media handles that Ranjithkumar Newton, Kugadas Mathulan and Vikneswaran Akash have been included in the squads.

Newton, a left-arm fast bowler from Jaffna Central College and Mathulan, the right-arm slinger from St. John’s College, Jaffna will represent Sri Lanka in the upcoming U19 Asia Cup.

The leg-spinner Vikneswaran Akash, a product of Hartley College, Point Pedro has been selected to represent Sri Lanka U17 in the series against Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, former Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakkara who has been involved in a number of donation efforts in the past, has come forward to donate cricket gear to these three cricketers.
