A 50-year-old man and his 18-year-old daughter are missing after a paddle boat collided with a larger vessel and capsized in Negombo’s Munnakkara Lagoon, police said.
The accident, involving seven people including a Catholic priest recently returned from overseas, occurred this afternoon (24). Five were rescued by nearby boat crews, while two critically injured individuals were hospitalized.
The group, comprising fishermen and family members, were from Munnakkarai. A search operation is ongoing to locate the missing father and daughter, feared drowned. (NewsWire)
