The Deputy Minister of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party (IDCPC), Sun Haiyan paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya at the Temple Trees in Colombo on Sunday (24 Nov).
According to the PM’s Office, the meeting was attended by high-ranking officials from the International Department of the CPC Central Committee of China, along with the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong and officials from the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka.
Representing Sri Lanka, Minister of Women and Child Affairs, Saroja Paulraj, Deputy Chair of Parliamentary Committees Hemali Weerasekara, Member of Parliament Samanmalee Gunasinghe, as well as Secretary to the Prime Minister Pradeep Saputhanthri, and Director General East Asia from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ruwanthi Delpitiya attended the meeting.
