Three people who were trapped in the Adampan area of Kobeigane in the North Western Province due to floods have been rescued by Sri Lanka Army personnel today (28 Nov).
The sluice gates of the Deduru Oya Reservoir were opened today due to heavy rainfall in the North Western Province submerging lowlands.
One woman and two men engaged in fishing activities in the Adampan area were trapped as a result, after which they were rescued by the Army.
Following the instructions of the Commander of the Army and under the supervision of the Commander, Security Force (West), troops were deployed to respond to the emergency. (Islandnews)
