Hasini Ambalangodage and Hazara Wijeratne, who traveled to the African continent to participate in three international badminton tournaments, have managed to win another silver medal.
Hasini and Hazara, who entered the women’s doubles final of the tournament held at the Access Park in Cape Town, lost 21-14 and 21-14 to South African players Amy Ackerman and Deirdre Lawrence.
Accordingly, it is special that Hasini and Hazara managed to win a gold medal and two silver medals in the three tournaments of the long tour of the African continent held from the 14th of November to the 1st of December.
The pair, who won a silver medal at the Zambia International Badminton Championship as the first tournament of the tour, recently won the gold medal at the International Badminton Championship held in Botswana, making history for the first time that two Sri Lankan players won the doubles championship at a World Badminton Conference tournament.
Accordingly, Hasini and Hazara ended a very successful tour by winning a gold medal and a pair of silver medals.
