Dilruwan Perera resigns from National Selection Committee

Former Sri Lankan off-spinner Dilruwan Perera who worked as a member of the National Cricket Selection Committee, has resigned from his position to focus on a career in coaching.

Perera was part of the five-member National Cricket Selection Committee headed by Upul Tharanga. Following his resignation, Perera has been appointed as the spin bowling coach of Sri Lanka U19 Team.

The 42-year old Perera represented Sri Lanka in 43 Tests, 13 ODIs and 3 T20Is and managed to claim 177 wickets across formats.

The national selection committee will now consist of only four members: Upul Tharanga, Ajantha Mendis, Indika de Saram and Tharanga Paranavithana.
