Dilruwan, who was a member of the five-member selection committee headed by Upul Tharanga, has taken this decision with the aim of giving more attention to his cricket coaching responsibilities.
Thus, he has accepted his responsibilities as the bowling coach of the Sri Lanka under-19 cricket team.
At the age of 42, Dilruwan played 43 Test matches, 14 ODI matches and 3 T20 matches for Sri Lanka and managed to take 177 international wickets.
