MP Shanakiyan Rasamanickam said that he is in possession of more information on the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks which claimed over 250 lives.
Speaking in Parliament the Batticaloa district MP said that the government must thoroughly investigate the links to the 2019 terror attacks.
“This government has a great responsibility about the Easter Attacks. We saw that Pillayan was questioned over the matter. Beyond that, we won’t tell you about who needs to be arrested. That is a matter with the Police. However, we have more information about the Easter Sunday attacks,” he said.
“I have informed the Defence Secretary about this. The Defence Minister is also here. Give us an opportunity. We have discussed many things about the Tripoli platoon within Parliament. We will coordinate these groups, for more evidence to be obtained,” Rasamanickam said.
The MP said that a list outlining 32 alleged incidents and misdeeds involving former Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, alias Pillayan, and the government was submitted to former Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, but no action was taken.
“The present Prime Minister should look into these matters at least, ask us about where and how Pillayan grabbed land and obtained money, Take the information and initiate probes into these matters,” Rasamanickam requested the government. (Islandnews)
