Gazette on regulated wholesale and retail prices for both locally produced and imported rice released


A Gazette notification has been published establishing the ceiling wholesale and retail prices for both domestically produced and imported rice.

As outlined by the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA), the maximum wholesale price for one kilogram of locally produced White and Red Raw rice is set at Rs. 215, with the maximum retail price capped at Rs. 220.

For local Nadu rice, the wholesale price is fixed at Rs. 225 per kilogram, while the retail price cannot exceed Rs. 230. Similarly, a kilogram of Keeri Samba is priced at Rs. 255 wholesale and Rs. 260 retail.

The notification further specifies the maximum retail prices for imported rice. Imported raw rice has a maximum retail price of Rs. 210 per kilogram, while imported Nadu rice is priced at Rs. 220 per kilogram.

Lastly, the highest allowable retail price for one kilogram of imported Samba rice is set at Rs. 230, as per the Gazette.
