The government has given the green light to implement digital driving licenses as replacements for the current ones, according to Cabinet spokesperson and Minister Nalinda Jayatissa.
Speaking to the press, he noted that the government acknowledges the importance of adopting digital driving licenses, akin to those utilized in other nations.
The new licenses will be rolled out shortly, but the issuance of the current licenses will persist temporarily until the digital system is fully operational, he explained.
This marks 15 years since the initial digital driving license system was first introduced.
