A person who was in possession of narcotics including heroin, ICE and ecstasy pills worth over Rs.130 million has been arrested by the Police Special Task Force (STF) in the Kahathuduwa area in Polgasowita.
The suspect has been arrested by the Police STF yesterday (11) afternoon, with five kilograms of heroin, 1.6 kilograms of ICE and 800 Ecstasy pills that were in his possession which has been seized, Police Media said.
Police investigations have revealed that the arrested suspect is a main accomplice of a notorious female drug trafficker conducting the drug distribution network from Dubai.
It has been revealed that the 27-year-old suspect is identified as Pilana Kankanamge Krishan Sanjula alias “Sanju” who is a resident of the Neboda area.
Further interrogations carried out with the suspect have revealed that the owner of this stock of narcotics seized is a notorious drug peddler named Kanchana living in hiding in Dubai.
It has been revealed that the stock of drugs have been discovered from a house in Polgasowita and the house has been rented since sometime back by the drug trafficker Kanchana who is in hiding in Dubai which has been used as a storehouse for the drugs and that drugs have been distributed to various areas from this house.
The seized stock of drugs has been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
