ChatGPT, the popular AI chatbot, experienced a global outage that began around 7 PM ET (5:30 AM IST). Due to the outage, users are not able to access ChatGPT and the recently launched Sora services of the company. According to website status tracking tool – Downdetector.com, 74% users are not able to access ChatGPT whereas 16% and 10% users are facing issues with the website and the app respectively.
When users tried to access ChatGPT, they encountered an error message stating that the service was temporarily unavailable. OpenAI acknowledged the issue and assured users that their team was working to restore service.
What the company said about the outage
ChatGPT creator OpenAI has acknowledged the issue and has also posted about the same on X (formerly known as Twitter). “We’re experiencing an outage right now. We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix. Sorry and we’ll keep you updated!,” posted the company. (Times of India)
