Sri Lanka suffered a 28-run defeat at the hands of Bangladesh in their second game of Women’s U19 Asia Cup 2024 played today (16th December) at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Having won the toss, Sri Lanka invited Bangladesh to take the first lease of the wicket in a rain-curtailed game (17 overs per side).

Bangladesh managed to post 122 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 17 overs. Rashmika Sewwandi stood out with a fiery spell, claiming 4 wickets and 23 runs.
In reply, Sri Lanka were restricted to 94/8 falling 28 runs short of the target. The opening batter Sanjana Kavindi (21) and middle-order batter Rashmika Sewwandi (20) got starts but failed to convert them to substantial scores.
