In a special general meeting of Sri Lanka Cricket held yesterday (20), it has been decided to make significant amendments to the constitution of Sri Lanka Cricket.
As a notable constitutional amendment that has taken place here, the reduction of the total number of votes from 147 to 60 can be introduced.
According to the new voting system, voting rights are determined according to the level each sports club plays, and each sports club will be entitled to only one vote.
It has also been decided to establish audit, budget and investment committees to protect financial transparency.
With these decisions, Sri Lankan cricket will continue to grow and the cricket body is confident that it will move towards the future with transparency.
In addition, a five-member selection committee, including retired Court of Appeal judge Mrs. Malani Gunaratne, has also been named, and this committee is going to supervise the Sri Lankan cricket selection activities to be held in 2025.
