– Fairly strong winds up to 30-40 kmph
The Department of Meteorology announced that rainy conditions are expected to enhance over the Northern, North-Central, and Eastern provinces, along with the Matale and Kandy districts, in the coming days starting today (10).
Showers are forecast at times in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, and in the Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts, with fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75mm likely in some areas.
Isolated showers or thundershowers may occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces, and the Kandy district during the afternoon or night.
Fairly strong winds of 30-40 kmph are expected in the Northern, Eastern, North-Central, North-Western provinces, and the Hambantota district. Misty conditions are anticipated in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces during the morning.
The public is urged to take precautions to mitigate damages caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
