Jaffna District MP Archchuna Ramanathan engaged in a heated argument with a group of traffic Police officers who had inspected his vehicle for using VIP lights.
According to video footage shared on social media, the Police officers had stopped the Parliamentarian for using VIP lights, claiming it caused distress to other motorists.
The MP was seen verbally abusing the Police officers, who were informing the MP of violating traffic laws.
“Are we not VIP”, the Jaffna MP questioned, telling the Police officers that he should be allowed to travel to Parliament similar to the President and Prime Minister. (Islandnews)
