Suspended Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon has been remanded until tomorrow, 20 March 2025.
The Matara Magistrate’s Court remanded Tennakoon after he surrendered to court this morning.
The court further informed that the decision on Deshabandu Tennakoon’s bail application will be announced tomorrow.
An open warrant had been issued against Tennakoon over a shooting incident at a prominent hotel in Weligama.
Deshabandu Tennakoon had evaded arrest since an arrest warrant was issued against him.
The Court of Appeal had also rejected his petition seeking an order to prevent his arrest. (Islandnews)
