Payments exceeding Rs. 80 million for 122 vouchers related to food purchases for Parliament have been made without proper verification from the recipients, Lankadeepa newspaper reported.
Quoting findings by the National Audit Office, the report said that payments made between January and July 2023 were not confirmed by the designated recipients, violating financial regulations and procedures.
These details were disclosed in the 2023 annual report of the Sri Lankan Parliament which includes the audit findings highlighting irregularities in financial transactions, the report said. (Islandnews)
