Colombo South became champions of Prima U15 Sri Lanka Youth League 2024, securing a massive 149-run win over Kandy in the final, played on 6th December at Thurstan College, Grounds.
After winning the toss, Colombo South opted to bat first. They posted 214 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 49 overs. Reshan Solomons was the top scorer for them with a 77-run knock which came off 99 balls including 11 fours.

Apart from him, Tharuka Saminjitha and Adeesha Lakshan also contributed with 32 and 24 runs, respectively. On the bowling front, Sanithu Gunathilake and Chanul Kodituwakku picked up three wickets apiece.
In response, Kandy was not able to come anywhere from the target, having bowled out for 65 runs in 25.5 overs, courtesy of the brilliant bowling display of Chanithu Kankanamge, who bagged 5 wickets for just 22 runs. Methum Fernando also appeared, scalping 3/19.
For Kandy, Chanul Kodituwakku scored a run-a-ball 36 with 3 fours and 2 sixes, but the rest of the batting unit failed to contribute.
