The suspect involved in the shooting at a Colombo Court Complex today is reported to have smuggled the weapon concealed inside a Code of Criminal Procedure book.
The suspect had also disguised himself as a lawyer enabling him to bring in the weapon to carry out the shooting in which underworld kingpin Ganemulla Sanjeewa was killed.Â
Questions have been raised over the lapse in security and court safety following the shooting reported inside the court premises this morning.Â
According to the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), the investigation into the Hulftsdorp Court shooting has been handed over to the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD). (Islandnews)
