The Sri Lankan rupee strengthened significantly against the US Dollar on the first working day of 2025 compared to the same day in 2024, according to data from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
According to the Central Bank, the buying rate of the US Dollar was Rs. 289.08 and the selling rate was Rs. 297.65 on 01 January 2025.
However, on 01 January 2024, the buying rate of the US Dollar was Rs. 319.23 and the selling rate was Rs. 328.77.
