An eight-year-old is stabbed after playing a video game.
A 13-year-old kid had stabbed an eight-year-old child for refusing to let him use his mobile phone to play a video game, and the youngster had then taken poison.
The two kids, who are residents of the Angunukolapelessa police area, live in Wetiya.
While the kid who had taken poison was sent to Embilipitiya Base Hospital, the youngster who had been stabbed was taken to the Kuttigala Divisional Hospital and then moved to the Hambantota General Hospital.
According to inquiries, two different families had been coexisting, and the kids had welcomed guests to each home. Still, the two kids had developed a mobile phone video addiction.
The thirteen-year-old kid went to the adjacent home on Wednesday night (05) when the eight-year-old youngster played the video game. The latter had not allowed the former to play a different game. The youngster, eight years old, had been stabbed as a consequence.
He had left the scene after the event and eaten poison somewhere covert. After seeing it, someone brought the youngster to the Kuttigala Divisional Hospital, and from there, he was subsequently sent to the Embilipitiya Base Hospital.
Angunukolapelessa police are looking into things further.
