Failed shooting attempt reported in Kosgoda

A failed shooting attempt was reported in the Mahainduruwa area in Kosgoda early this morning (Jan 30).

According to the Police, two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle had attempted to shoot at a house, while they had also forcibly entered the house and attempted to target an individual inside. 

However, as the weapons had malfunctioned and failed to fire, no injuries, casualties, or damages to the house were reported in the incident.

The Police have found a pistol, suspected to be the weapon used in the incident, in an area close to the house. 

The Kosgoda Police has launched investigations to arrest the suspects in the attempted shooting incident. (Islandnews)
