Mainly fair weather will prevail over most parts of Sri Lanka today, according to the Department of Meteorology.
The department states, however, that several spells of showers will occur in the Northern and Eastern provinces and Anuradhapura district.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Kurunegala, Galle and Matara districts in the evening or night.
Misty conditions can be expected in most places of the island in the morning.
Meanwhile, showers will occur at a few places in the sea areas extending from Batticaloa to Kankasanthurai via Trincomalee. The sea areas around the island will be slight.
Winds will be North-easterly or variable in direction in the sea areas around the island. Wind speed will be 20-30 kmph. (Islandnews)
