Rebel Heart, the single from the third EP album IVE EMPATHY, was pre-released by the well-known K-pop girl group IVE today, January 13, at 6 PM KST. The song video features six members: Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo. It depicts the change from the chaos of rebellion to the calmness of a successful mission.
The IVE members can be seen in the MV standing alone in various places, such as a school or the middle of the road. This represents the youth’s attempt to rebel against the existing order, even if it meant being abandoned and without help. The video shows the confusion involved in rebelling by starting with soothing piano melodies and then switching to loud music.
As the fight for resistance ended and they established a new order, the end featured soothing music again. IVE members can be seen wearing white in this section, smiling broadly as they observe white feathers flying against the night sky.
On Christmas Day last year, the girl group Starship Entertainment announced the release of their third mini-album, IVE EMPATHY. To build anticipation, they released the teaser video for Rebel Heart, the album’s lead single, one day before the music video’s release. To give fans a sneak peek at the Rebel Heart music video’s vibe, the agency also unveiled the six members’ dreamy concept photographs starting on January 6. One could say that the music video justified the hype created by the concept photos.
On February 3, 2025, the entire IVE EMPATHY album will be released. After the success of their album IVE SWITCH, IVE released their first Korean single in nine months with the release of Rebel Heart, the album’s title tune.
