Matale district Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Rohini Kaviratne has reported that a group of JVP members, including former Yatawatta local councilor W. G. Manjula Prasad Samaraweera, threatened a local resident named Amal Rathnayake at his home in Matale Yatawatta. Kaviratne stated that the threat lasted for 22 minutes, and a video of the incident has been shared publicly.
Kaviratne also emphasized that citizens have the right to free expression through social media and condemned attempts to suppress opposition activities, especially in the lead-up to the local government elections. (NewsWire)
