Deputy Minister of Sports Sugath Thilakarathna visited the Kilinochchi Sports Complex in the Northern Province on Sunday (Feb 2) to assess its current condition.
It was observed that the complex, although completed in 2017, has faced operational challenges due to quality issues within a short time since its opening.
During the inspection, the Deputy Minister examined the outdoor and indoor stadiums, fitness centre, and swimming pool.
The minister pledged to restore the facility for the benefit of children across all districts in the Northern Province. The Minister was accompanied by sports ministry officials, local athletes, parents, and community members. (Islandnews)
