Lake House publications achieved a remarkable feat by securing six awards at the 25th Annual Journalism Awards for Excellence 2024, organized by the Sri Lanka Press Institute and The Editors’ Guild of Sri Lanka. The prestigious awards ceremony was held today (07) at the Mount Lavinia Hotel.

The award winners include:

1. Best Sports Journalist of the Year (Sinhala): Fows Mohammed, Silumina Newspaper

2. Best Sports Journalist of the Year (Tamil): Mohammad Firdous

3. Best Health and Medical Reporting of the Year (Sinhala): Sureka Nilmini Ilangakoon, Silumina Newspaper

4. Best Health and Medical Reporting of the Year (Tamil): Marlin Marikkar, Thinakaran Newspaper

5. Certificate of Merit for Best Business and Financial Reporting of the Year (Sinhala): Rasika Kotudurage, Silumina Newspaper

6. Subramaniam Chettiar Certificate of Merit for Best Social Development Reporting of the Year (English): Nadira Gunathilake, Daily News

This year’s awards celebrate the exceptional contributions of Lake House journalists to the field of media and their dedication to high-quality reporting.
