The owner of the Galle Marvels team in the Lanka T10 Super League, who was arrested over allegations of match-fixing, has been further remanded.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today further remanded Prem Thakkar, who is an Indian national, until 18 December 2024.
He was arrested by Sri Lanka’s Sports Police Unit last week (12 Dec) following allegations of a fixing approach linked to the Lanka T10 Super League.
The arrest was made after a foreign player lodged a complaint, claiming to have been approached with a suspicious offer related to match-fixing.
Authorities are investigating the incident, which has raised concerns about the integrity of the inaugural Lanka T10 tournament. (Islandnews)
