Former Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara has left the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) after recording a statement for 06 hours today.
Manusha Nanayakkara had recorded a statement regarding the MOU signed to provide jobs to South Korea via the E-8 visa scheme.
The former minister had filed an anticipatory bail seeking an order to prevent his arrest by the CID following a probe launched into the E-8 visa scheme.
The anticipatory bail application that was filed by the former minister was taken up for consideration at the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
At the time, the CID informed the court that the investigation had been launched into the E-8 visa scheme based on a complaint filed by the current Chairman of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment. (Islandnews)
