Ministry monitoring new virus outbreak in China


The Health Ministry’s Epidemiology Unit stated that it is closely monitoring reports of a virus outbreak in China.

Information regarding this situation has been received yesterday (3) and further details will be shared with the media following a thorough investigation sources said.

Reports from international media indicate that several viruses are currently spreading in China, five years after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among the diseases spreading is the Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), with COVID-19 cases still being reported. Additionally, influenza viruses are said to be circulating widely in the country.

It has been reported that the virus situation in China is escalating rapidly, with hospitals overwhelmed by patients. Social media platforms provide insights into the ongoing crisis, further confirming the severity of the situation.
