Authorities across the country made several arrests on Feb. 22 following operations targeting individuals found with locally manufactured firearms.

– Seized: Locally made firearm

– Status: Investigation ongoing

–  Athigale Police Station 

– Suspect: 37-year-old from Vilaoya

– Seized: Locally manufactured gun

– Status: Authorities pursuing further leads

–  Kotavehera Police Station

– Suspect: 40-year-old from Gallageda

– Seized: Locally produced firearm

– Status: Investigation ongoing

–  Special Task Force, Kantale Camp

– Suspect: 44-year-old from Kinniya

– Seized: Locally made firearm

– Status: Suspect in custody for further questioning

–  Weligepola Police Station 

– Suspect: 52-year-old from Weligepola

– Seized: Locally manufactured firearm

– Status: Case under investigation

–  Habaraduwa Police Station 

– Suspect: 26-year-old woman

– Seized: One foreign-made revolver, one locally produced revolver, two pistol magazines, and two bullets

– Status: Investigation continues
