Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala says steps have been taken to issue 2500 passports per day.
Speaking to Islandnews, Minister Wijepala said, previously, only 1200 passports were issued per day.
He further said a separate counter has been opened to obtain passports for anyone who requires to travel abroad urgently.
Minister Wijepala said applications submitted to that counter will be considered by a committee and steps will be taken to provide passports as soon as possible. (Islandnews)
