Two suspects have been apprehended in the area between Paranthan and Elephant Pass in Kilinochcho for transporting 400.4 kilos of Kerala cannabis in a lorry.
The suspects were arrested last night during a raid conducted by Kilinochchi Police, based on a tip-off from Miltary Intelligence.Â
The arrested suspects are aged between 34 and 40 years and are residents of Kilinochchi.
The stock of cannabis had been found packed in 182 parcels that had been concealed inside the lorry.Â
Preliminary investigations reveal that the lorry had arrived from the Vaddukottai area in Jaffna. (Islandnews)
