Former Nepal Rugby, Army Rugby, Dharmaraja and Royal College coach Radhika Hettiarachchi has been unveiled as the Head coach at Zahira College for the 2024/25 season.
He will be joined by former Dharmaraja Head coach Kavinda Jayasena as the Forwards coach with Police Center Prince Chamara taking up the role as kicking coach.
A former star of the Sri Lankan National Rugby team, Hettiarachchi boasts an illustrious career both as a player and a coach. With over a decade of experience representing Sri Lanka, his leadership, versatility, and tactical acumen are unparalleled.
He excelled in various positions, including center and fullback, and earned recognition as one of the most reliable players of his time.
Since retiring from professional rugby, Hettiarachchi has seamlessly transitioned into coaching, where he has made a significant impact across multiple teams. His passion, expertise, and commitment have been instrumental in developing the next generation of Sri Lankan rugby talent.
His experience from being the Nepal Rugby Coach and Dharmaraja College Kandy coach will no doubt be tested as he takes over at Zahira College.
Former Zahira College player Nafees Naizer will be the trainer while Nimesh De Silva, the former Royal College physiotherapist will also be joining the Zahira backroom staff.
