The Department of Meteorology has announced that several spells of rain are expected today (09) in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, along with the Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Isolated showers or thundershowers may also occur in the Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces, as well as the Kalutara and Kandy districts in the afternoon or night.
Misty conditions are likely during the morning in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces, and in the Kurunegala district.
The general public is advised to take precautions against localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
