The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has been informed of the suspension of the licences of 5 liquor manufacturers, including W.M. Mendis & Co., subject to conditions.
The court was informed by the Attorney General today that the decision has been taken by the Excise Department as part of its tax collection process.
As such, the Excise Department has decided to suspend the licenses of 5 liquor manufacturers, including W.M. Mendis & Co., if they fail to pay outstanding dues on Value Added Tax (VAT) before 30 November 2024. (Islandnews)
