A principal of a primary school in Ragama has been arrested for soliciting a bribe of Rs. 150,000 for school admission.
According to the Bribery Commission, the principal had solicited a bribe from a woman from the Maththumagala area to admit a student into Grade 01 for the academic year 2025.
She was arrested by officials from the Bribery Commission while accepting the bribe at her office inside the school premises.Â
The Bribery Commission said the arrested school principal will be produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court. (Islandnews)
