Three suspects were arrested in connection with a shop break-in and property theft valued at approximately Rs. 5.6 million, police said.
The break-in was reported to Hangawella Police on Feb. 17, prompting an investigation by local authorities and the Nugegoda District Criminal Investigation Division.
On Feb. 22, officers conducted a raid in Godagama, Homagama, based on received intelligence. The suspects were apprehended while transporting the stolen goods in a van.
The arrested individuals, aged 27, 32, and 47, are residents of Puttalam and Nugegoda. They were taken to Hangawella Police Station for further questioning.
Recovered stolen items include 46 mobile phones, 14 television sets, four laptops, 10 speakers, two grinders, a blender, a gas lighter, and a washing machine.
