Three persons among four who were engaged in construction work were reported dead after being electrocuted in the Norochcholai area in Puttalam yesterday.
The Police said that the group was engaged in construction work of an event hall when they had been electrocuted.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the four persons had been on top of a metal ladder and had been working on electrical work, when the power supply had come in contact with the ladder, electrocuting them.
All four electrocuted individuals were admitted to the Puttalam Hospital, during which three persons had died.
The deceased are aged 16, 22, and 29 years old and are residents of Puttalam. (Islandnews)
