Vedda Chief Uruwarige Wannila Aththo has formally lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) against comedians Gehan Blok and Dino Corera over their YouTube video depicting the Vedda community.
Earlier this week, the Vedda leader announced plans to take legal action against Blok & Dino, claiming the video misrepresented the Indigenous Vedda community.
Speaking to the media, he said the video was made for commercial purposes at the expense of his community’s heritage, distorting their language and traditions. He also stated that his attempts to contact the creators and request the video’s removal were unsuccessful. (NewsWire)
