The Department of Railways has commenced an intercity train service between Colombo Fort and Kankesanthurai from today (2).
According to Deputy General Manager of Railways N. J. Idipolage, the service will operate every Saturday and Sunday.
The train departs from Colombo Fort at 5:30 a.m. and is scheduled to arrive at Kankesanthurai at 11:38 a.m. It will then depart from Kankesanthurai at 12:30 p.m., reaching Colombo Fort by 7:19 p.m. on the same day.
The fare for a one-way ticket on this first-class-only service, consisting of ten carriages, is set at Rs. 3,200. (NewsWire)
