Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the second son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa left the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) yesterday (3) after recording a statement for over two hours.
The CID had summoned Yoshitha Rajapaksa to provide a statement in connection with an ongoing investigation into an illegal asset acquisition.
The ongoing investigation by the CID involves Yoshitha Rajapaksa regarding the ownership of a state land in Kataragama.
Yoshitha reported to the CID yesterday morning around 10 am to record a statement regarding the ownership of the government land in Kataragama. The CID recorded a statement last Friday from former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s former Chief Security Officer, Major Neville Wanniarachchi for about four hours in connection with the same land that involves Yoshitha Rajapaksa.
